Dear Rapid Miner Folks,
I just oppened the RapidMiner Tutorial from Help Menu from RapidMiner v5.0.00.5. From the first page of this tutorial it saids: "You should read the first chapter of the RapidMiner Tutorial for better motivation, but you can also try to start with the online tutorial without reading the printed version. Please read the texts carefully and try at least the suggested steps. The online tutorial will take about one hour."
I'd like to read that document in order to take the tutorial. Where can I find it?
Thanks a lot.
Guillermo "GeMó" Sanchez.

Hello, I'm sorry to ask the same question again. I cannot find the tutorial at this location, there are only manual, gui manual, javadoc and installation notes. Google brought me to http://rapid-i.com/content/view/36/83/lang,de/ when i searched for "rapidminer tutorial" but this tutorial describes an old version (4.4) of rapidminer. Is there something newer available? Best regards, Matthias

The "tutorial" and the "manual" are the same thing. Beginning with RapidMiner 5 we renamed the former "tutorial" to "manual" in order to avoid confusion with the online tutorial available in the help menu of RapidMiner.
Cheers, Ingo

Ok, thank you for that information. Since the major part about all the operators is missing in the manual I thought it had to be some different document. Perhaps you should change the confusing reference in the online tutorial some day.

Ah, I see. We excluded the "Operator Reference" from the latest version since every operator brings its own documentation now directly in the program itself within the help view. This is a attempt to save some trees but of course we could also try to generate the reference again for future versions. Thanks also for the hint to the statement in the online tutorial.
What do you (and all the others) think? Should we again create a PDF file containing the complete operator reference? Will it be useful enough in addition to the built-in operator documentation directly available within RapidMiner?
Cheers, Ingo

Greetings Ingo.
I see a lot of deprecated methods in Rapidminer 5.0 code, and i think, the "extending RM" chapter is not in the new manual, and i want to know how much is this aspect changing with the new RM version?. Thanks.
