New release: Rapid-I released a new version of RapidMiner 4.1 - now including a 64 bit version and a new Enterprise Edition.
RapidMiner 4.1: Community Edition and new Enterprise Edition
We were able to simplify the available versions of RapidMiner. Users can now choose between the free Community Edition of RapidMiner and the Enterprise Edition which is more suitable for professional data analysts:

Changes from RapidMiner 4.0 to RapidMiner 4.1
This release is a major bugfix and feature release. In particular, two errors which caused unusual high memory consumptions for some data mining processes were fixed and several new features were added (see below).
General Improvements:
- New 64 bit version for Windows x64 systems - allowing for large scale data mining runs on massive memory machines
- In total, about 80 bugs were fixed compared to version 4.0
- RapidMiner is now available in a free Community Edition and a professional Enterprise Edition including more features, services, and guarantees
- Improved and more comprehensive documentation of all operators inside the programm
- Two different icon sets and look and feels
- New and improved plotting facilities including different shapes for plotter points
- The most important preprocessing operators can now produce both views and materialized data changes
- Several new preprocessing models were added
- Improved wizards for data loading and new wizards for parameter optimizations and parameter iterations
- We improved the performance of several learning schemes, especially for data sets containing numerical values
- and a lot more
Bugfixes:
This release fixes a large amount of different bugs, especially two errors which caused unusual high memory consumptions for some data mining processes were fixed. In total, about 80 bugs were fixed compared to version 4.0 and it is therefore highly recommended to change to this version instead.
