According to a poll performed by the leading internet portal for knowledge discovery and data mining, KDnuggets, RapidMiner (formerly YALE) is among the Top 3 Data Mining Tools in 2007 and the No. 1 Open-Source Solution.

From May 5-20th, 2007, KDnuggets performed a poll among more than 500 data mining experts and practitioners about which data mining and analytic tools they used in 2007. 103 of the 534 voters selected YALE (RapidMiner) as data mining tool (19.3%) making RapidMiner / YALE the third most widely used data mining tool overall and the most widely used open-source data mining software. According to the poll, the most widely used data mining tool overall was SPSS/Clementine with 116 votes (21.7%). Considering the fact, that this is only a small lead and that SPSS/Clementine has been around for many more years than RapidMiner / YALE, this is yet another indicator of the rapid growth of the RapidMiner / YALE user base. The total number of tools was 30, among them all well known commercial and open-source data mining solutions.
