Prof.
Dr. Katharina Morik is head of the
Artificial Intelligence Unit at
the University of Dortmund, Germany.
She was one of the founders of the research on machine learning
and data mining in Germanny and is
an internationally acknowledged expert in machine learning,
data mining, and knowledge discovery.
Among many other research and industry projects, she coordinated and lead
the successful
multi-national European research project Mining Mart covering
research on and
applications of innovative data mining technology.

Prof. Dr. Thorsten Joachims is associate professor at the
Department of Computer Science at the Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, USA.
He is an internationally acknowledged expert in machine learning,
support vector machines, statistical learning theory, text classification,
text mining, web mining,
information retrieval, and intelligent information systems.

Prof. Dr. Isabel Lausberg is professor for
Technical Business Administration at the
Georg Agricola University of Applied Science (TFH Bochum), Germany.
She is an expert for marketing and analysing and addressing customer preferences.
Prior to joining the faculty of TFH Bochum, she worked for Karstadt
Warenhaus AG, a major German retailer, as internal consultant for business
development in e-commerce and as project leader for
branch strategies for the Karstadt stores.
