Rapid-I in 2012: Successful US expansion, new customers and partners.
With a successful US expansion, renowned customers and new partnerships, Rapid-I consistently pushed its business growth forward.
Dortmund, 21st 2013 - Rapid-I, a leading provider of open source solutions for predictive analytics, data mining and text mining, is taking a positive look back on 2012. The enterprise expanded its business activities extensively: with new offices in North America, the extension of its partner network and numerous new customers.
In addition, Rapid-I has been continuously pushing the development of innovative technology forward with its commitment in the area of big data and predictive analytics. Together with Radoop, a spin-off of the University of Technology and Economics in Budapest, the first Hadoop-based extension for RapidMiner was developed. RapidMiner and Radoop support user-friendly analyses in the terabyte and petabyte range. Moreover, Rapid-I was involved as a sponsor in the Predictive Analytics World (PAW) conferences in Dusseldorf, London and Boston.
As far as customers go, Rapid-I was able to win over PayPal among others. The Telenor Group, one of the world’s leading mobile service providers, was added to Rapid-I’s list of customers as the first successful result of the extended partnership with United Consult. The Hungarian enterprise uses RapidAnalytics for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications such as fraud detection and customer prevention. Rapid-I now has more than 450 customers in over 50 countries worldwide.
Rapid-I also continued to expand its international partner network in 2012. New partners include the specialist for advanced analytics, SimaFore (USA), the Russian consulting firm LifeStyle Marketing as well as SmartSoft (North and South America), a provider of solutions for the prevention of risks and money laundering in finance.
An important point in 2012 was again the strengthening of the developer community. The third user and developer conference RCOMM, which took place in 2012 in Budapest, was very popular with the RapidMiner community. Alongside the exchanging of experience and networking, the participants appreciate the transfer of practical knowledge in the form of training courses and workshops. After the success of the first three events, Rapid-I will continue the RCOMM in Porto, Portugal, in August 2013.
"2012 was a year in which we successfully extended our international activities – and we will continue doing so of course", explains Dr. Ingo Mierswa, managing director of Rapid-I. "There are also quite a few things on the agenda for the new year already: As well as new versions of RapidMiner and RapidAnalytics, the go-live of our Marketplace is not far away."
