The nation's favorite teams of the day are determined during the World Cup with RapidSentilyzer: mannschaft-der-herzen.de
Rapid-I, a leading provider of open source solutions for predictive analytics, data mining and text mining, will be observing the online sentiment during the upcoming World Cup with its solution RapidSentilyzer. The portal solution for competitive and customer intelligence will comb through the most varied of online channels for emotionally tinged comments relating to individual national teams. The daily result of this tracking will be shown as of 7th June on the specially created microsite www.mannschaft-der-herzen.de. So the "team of hearts" will be determined at the end of the world championship, irrespectively of who wins the sporting competition.
RapidSentilyzer represents sentiments and opinions in real time by combining efficient crawling techniques with high-performance data and text mining and using automatic categorisation. The results determined are shown via RapidSentilyzer BuzzBoard. The solution can be used in many different contexts – from the attitude of consumers to a certain brand and the popularity of a politician right through to the success of certain marketing/PR campaigns. The latest news from news pages, forum posts or blog entries are always collected and evaluated automatically with RapidSentilyzer. The solution is based on the RapidMiner data analysis engine as well as on the RapidMiner enterprise analytics server and requires no configuration efforts by the customer.
"Soccer is always a very emotional event", explains Dr. Ingo Mierswa, CEO of Rapid-I. "So it is all the more interesting to now be able to follow the current sentiment for an individual team. RapidSentilyzer offers relevant customer and market information in real time and has already proved its worth in the most varied of areas."
Positive, negative and neutral attitudes towards the individual World Cup teams expressed in diverse blogs, forums and on other online channels are filtered out by the tool and recorded as part of the current project. The results can be followed on the Internet with a curve reflecting the sentiment over time, taking special outlier events into consideration. In this way all football fans can find out the current level of sympathy for individual teams and also witness changes in sentiment live.
