KDnuggets and Rexer Analytics: RapidMiner is leading the way in the popularity stakes and customer satisfaction.
|
According to recent surveys on data mining, Rapid-I, a leading provider of open source solutions for predictive analytics, data mining and text mining, is considered an industry leader. The findings of the two data mining surveys by KDnuggets and Rexer Analytics come to the conclusion that RapidMiner is now the most widely used data mining solution worldwide. It is also one of the top companies in terms of customer satisfaction - in both open and closed source environments.

According to KDnuggets, the world's leading web portal for information on data mining, more than one third (37.8 percent) of the 912 data miners polled had used RapidMiner productively and placed the open source system for data and text mining at the top of the survey. Having already been chosen as the most widely used open source data mining in the previous three annual KDnuggets surveys, these findings continue RapidMiner's success story. This year, however, RapidMiner has raised the bar still further and also came top in the overall analysis - which included a comparison with closed source solutions.
Furthermore, this year's survey showed that RapidMiner is growing at the fastest pace, with 79 percent growth-increase compared to the previous year. Factors for this growth curve are the sophisticated technology, cost-efficiency and easy handling. With its latest version, RapidMiner 5.0, Rapid-I has presented the market with a powerful tool that helps companies map and manage the business intelligence process chain comprising analytical ETL, data mining and predictive reporting.
Interestingly, the survey of KDnuggets readers also revealed that, in terms of using open source software, Germany is up among the forerunners (167).

RapidMiner also achieved top results in the 3rd Annual Data Miner Survey conducted by Rexer Analytics, a consultancy firm that focuses on advanced analytics, knowledge discovery and CRM. 91 percent of those who claimed to use RapidMiner as their primary data mining solution thought it highly to extremely likely that they would continue to deploy RapidMiner over the next three years.

Rapid-I was also one of the front-runners in terms of customer satisfaction with its solutions: more than 90 percent of the RapidMiner customers interviewed state that they are satisfied with the solution, more than 40 percent are even very satisfied.
"The findings of the KDnuggets and Rexer Analytics surveys show that our concept of combining cutting-edge technology with an attractive open source model is absolutely on the mark. Particularly against the backdrop of the German affinity for open source solutions, this is a market with great potential still", commented Dr. Ingo Mierswa, CEO of Rapid-I. "We are particularly delighted that the survey indicated such a high degree of customer satisfaction; because this is the greatest testimony to our success!"
