Rapid-I provides software, solutions, and services in the fields of predictive analytics, data mining, and text mining. The company concentrates on automatic intelligent analyses on a large-scale base, i.e. for large amounts of structured data like database systems and unstructured data like texts. The open-source data mining specialist Rapid-I enables other companies to use leading-edge technologies for data mining and business intelligence. The discovery and leverage of unused business intelligence from existing data enables better informed decisions and allows for process optimization.
Rapid-I is serving its customers globally with offices in Germany and the United States. Furthermore, more than 30 partners on all continents are looking forward to support your data analysis projects using Rapid-I software products.
The main product of Rapid-I, the data analysis solution RapidMiner is the world-leading open-source system for knowledge discovery and data mining. It is available as a stand-alone application for data analysis and as a data mining engine which can be integrated into own products. By now, hundreds of thousands of applications of RapidMiner in more than 50 countries give their users a competitive edge. Among the users are well-known companies as GfK, Sanofi, Deloitte, Thyssen Krupp, EADS, Paypal, Cisco, mobilkom austria, Telenor, Siemens, Boeing, Pepsi Co, Ericsson and many medium-sized businesses benefitting from the open-source business model of Rapid-I.
Facts
Rapid-I, headquartered in Dortmund, Germany, was founded in 2006 and was changed into an incorporated company in 2007. Starting in 2012, Rapid-I also offers its services from several locations in the US. Since 2001, more than 30 developers world-wide work on the open-source product RapidMiner.
Biographies of Key Executives
Ingo Mierswa is the founder of Rapid-I and is working as CEO of Rapid-I Germany. He has several years of experience in project management, human resources management, consulting, and leadership including ten years of coordinating and leading the multi-national RapidMiner developer team with about 50 developers and contributors world-wide. He wrote his Phd titled "Non-Convex and Multi-Objective Optimization for Numerical Feature Engineering and Data Mining" at the University of Dortmund under the supervision of Prof. Morik.
Giuseppe Taibi is CEO of Rapid-I North America. Prior to joining Rapid-I, he held executive positions at Quitnet, WEGOHealth, and Soundtracker Radio. Taibi began his career as the founder of Altoprofilo, which focused on the design and implementation of innovative web services for business and consumer markets. While there, he was also a founding member of the International Council at Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
Andrew Dinsmore is COO of Rapid-I North America. Prior to joining Rapid-I, he was a Managing Director with Elmscroft LLC, a financial and operational management consulting firm. Prior to founding Elmscroft, Dinsmore served as the CFO/COO of the M&A advisory firm Stuart Lammert & Co, and was the M&A lead for technology, aerospace and defense. He has also been a consultant with the BottomLine Group and A.T. Kearney. Dinsmore began his career as a spacecraft systems engineer for Spar Aerospace.
Ralf Klinkenberg is co-founder of Rapid-I and CBDO of Rapid-I Germany. He has several years of experience in project management and consulting including projects and consulting for large companies in the automotive industry, the telecommunications sector, and the financial sector as well as for diverse small and mid-sized companies in different branches.
