It is also possible to purchase a proprietary license (OEM license) of RapidMiner allowing commercial developers to integrate RapidMiner into own products in cases where open-source license does not suit their needs. Please contact us for a proprietary (commercial) license of RapidMiner.

Dual Licensing

Why dual licensing? Since we got a huge amount of requests for a proprietary license for RapidMiner, we decided to develop RapidMiner according to a dual licensing model. In many cases users and developers embed RapidMiner as a core library into their application or improve RapidMiner for a customer by changing the graphical user interface, adding new operators, etc. Although it is possible to do this under the AGPL under certain restrictions, some people demand for a proprietary license in order to fit their business model.

License Differences

RapidMiner is available under two different license types: first, the open-source versions of RapidMiner (Community Edition as well as the Enterprise Edition) which are available under the GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL) and a version available under a closed-source (commercial) license for embedding RapidMiner into proprietary products. Although we try to minimize the number of differences between the open-source and the closed-source versions, there are some small exceptions which will be discussed here.
