On December 8th, 2006, Ingo Mierswa, the project leader
of the open-source data mining project YALE,
and Ralf Klinkenberg, who initiated this project in 2001,
founded their start-up company Rapid-I,
in order to better serve the needs of professional
users of YALE and to provide innovative data mining solutions.
Rapid-I is a software and consulting company helping its customers to
significantly improve their efficiency and profitability with innovative
data mining and business intelligence solutions.

Rapid Growth of the YALE User Base |

The download statistics of last month, October 2006, indicate a rapid growth of the YALE user base. The first release of YALE hosted by SourceForge.net led to a few hundred downloads. Now, two years later, the monthly download number hit its peak at 16,000. This makes YALE one of the most widely used open-source systems for machine learning and data mining.

On February 16th, 2007, the web site of the start-up company Rapid-I
is launched to extend the web pages of the open-source data mining project
YALE.
Rapid-I is a software and consulting company helping its customers to
significantly improve their efficiency and profitability with innovative
data mining and business intelligence solutions.
YALE remains open-source (GPL) and free of charge for end users.
For closed-source software developers, an alternative developer license
(OEM) is available.
For and beyond YALE, Rapid-I also offers services like consulting,
professional support, customization, and integration.

YALE 3.4 Released on October 3rd, 2006 |
|
The new version 3.4 of the free data mining and machine learning environment
YALE was released on October 3rd, 2006.
Among other features, this release offers enhanced input handling methods for various
file formats and database systems.
Together with the powerful visualization engine - which was already completely revised
for YALE 3.3 - and the huge amount of learning and preprocessing methods, YALE 3.4 is
the first choice for the development of real-world data mining applications.
